Six public sector Indian banks have agreed a deal with railway operators to roll out ATMs that dispense tickets at stations across the country.

According to local press reports, State Bank of India, Canara Bank, Punjab National Bank, Dena Bank, Union Bank of India and Bank of Baroda plan to install over 1000 of the dual purpose ATMs select railway stations across the country.

The overseas property market in India offers more long-term investment possibilities than other rival markets such as Egypt and Morocco, says an industry expert.

Hetal Shah, director of Investors Provident, said that there were certain restrictions for investors looking to buy property in India, making the process more "tedious" than the popular hotspots in eastern Europe.

HONG KONG has the world's highest average rents for expatriate workers, well above Tokyo, New York and London, according to a study released yesterday.
    *Hong Kong has the highest rents for expat workers
    *Asia accounted for 50% of the top 10 expensive cities

The survey was carried out by international human resources consultancy ECA among relocation companies, real estate agents and foreign Altogether, Asia accounted for half of the top 10 most expensive cities for rental apartments for expatriates, while Nairobi was the world's cheapest.

What effect will extending the deadline of pubs & restaurants to 1.30am have on the image of Bangalore as a global city? BT asks expats and hospitality pros.

It's been discussed, considered and rejected before. But Bangaloreans are hopeful this time the decision to extend deadlines will be carried through, and that pubs, clubs and restaurants in the city will stay open till 1.30 am or 2 am.

But how does a simple deadline extension affect the city's image or make it more international? Simple, says area director and general manager of a five star hotel, PK Mohankumar.
